Head Veterinary Surgeon, Feline Doctor & Clinic Cat Advocate

Dr Tara graduated from the University of Sydney in 2008 and after working in Dubbo for a few years, she moved to Geraldton in 2012. Dr Tara has a wealth of experience with her passion being in soft tissue surgery, after hours emergency care and anything cats.

Dr Tara and her family have come to call Geraldton home, and enjoy living in the amazing Geraldton community. She has a farm in Chapman Valley where there is a large menagerie of animals and her quiet place.

Dr Tara and Nurse Natalie have owned Midwest Vet Centre since October 2020.

Natalie joined the Midwest team in 2017 after graduating in 2016. Animals have always been Natalie’s passion and have played a big part in her life and she has too many different species on her property to count!

Dr Tara and Nurse Natalie have owned Midwest Vet Centre since October 2020.

Suellen graduated from Murdoch University in 1993 and has worked with the Midwest Vet team since 2011. Suellen works casually within the clinic whilst also lecturing our upcoming student Vet Nurses at our TAFE.

Equine Veterinarian

Dr Kat has over 20 years experience as an equine veterinarian. Her special interests are equine poor performance, lameness examinations and workups.  Also works with equine reproduction/stud medicine and loves her rural life on her property in Walkaway.

Dr Felicity joined the team after graduating from Massey University in 2024, moving across the ditch to the hot and sunny west coast. She is settling in well already jumping into sports and clubs, and calling Geraldton home! She cannot wait to meet your furry friends and enjoy our surf!

Monica graduated with a DVM degree from Murdoch University in 2021, after which she moved to Queensland to complete a 12-month rotating internship in both equine and small animal medicine. Following that, she returned to Perth to be closer to her family, where she worked as a full-time equine vet for two years!

Joined Midwest Vets in January 2014, after qualifying as a vet nurse in 2013. Roxy is our Head Nurse and provides lots of love and care to the nurse team as well as her patients. Her favourite things are her two sons, her fiance and her pets. Her favourite breed is the chihuahua.

Shay joined the Midwest Vet Centre team in 2013 and then in 2015 took some years off to raise her babies.

Leonie joined the Midwest Vet team in 2022 as an experienced vet nurse. She enjoys providing gold standard emergency care for largies and smallies, with Equine being her passion. She has two dogs named Diesel and Ellie, two cats named Cobra and Cleo, a galah named Charlie, some chooks and two pet sheep.

Chloe joined the Midwest Vet Centre team in 2023! Her favourite part of her role is orthopaedic surgeries, handling exotic pets and also providing nutritional consultations as she is currently studying to be a nutritional nurse consultant. In her free time she enjoys playing softball and going camping.

Leah previously worked at an emergency and specialist clinic in Perth and we are stoked to have her knowledge and experience in the team! She loves the fast pace of emergencies and enjoys providing gold standard critical care for those pets who need it the most. On the weekends, you will catch her fishing and camping with her partner and dogs.

Emily joined our clinic in July 2024 after moving down from Carnarvon, where she previously worked for the wonderful Dr Emma up at Coral Coast Vets in Carnarvon for three years. Emily has a passion for behaviour and training, and being a patient advocate for fear free handling. She loves to spend her free time fostering animals and hanging out with her own cats and her partner.

Sophie joined Midwest Vets in 2024 and brings plenty of experience with her. She loves being a part of the on call team caring for pets in emergencies and helping reunite pets with their families. Outside of work, Sophie loves baking and unwinding with long walks on the beach. She is also kept on her toes by Lola, her gorgeous long hair dachshund!

Renae has returned to the team after a short break and brings many years of experience to the team. She loves our native wildlife and exotic pets, and on her weekends you can find her spending time with her daughter and hanging out with her pets.

Arlie joined Midwest Vets in 2022 as our Kennel Hand and is now a registered vet nurse. She enjoys monitoring any type of surgery, and her favourite patient is a sheep. On the weekend you might find her at the beach or camping with her dog Flicky.

Ella graduated in 2024 and joined the team in 2025! She loves all things feline, especially Ragdolls and cannot wait to meet the cats of Midwest Vets. On the weekends, you might find her hanging out with her dog Banjo and two cats, or at the beach surfing.

Casey joined the Midwest Vets team in 2015 as a vet nurse, our client care superstar and social media manager. As a self-described extreme cat enthusiast, she loves all things cat including spending all of her free time volunteering with Mid West Cat Shelter Inc. She has a cheeky Frenchie Nadja, 17 named and well loved pet chickens and her menagerie of rescue cats Ponyo, Valla, Cheeky Charlie, Link and Mez.
